Yes — Restarting your router every now and then is a simple way to keep your internet connection running smoothly.

Note, do not confuse this with a factory reset

Why Reboot?

Power cycling (unplugging and plugging back in) your router can help:

  • Clear up minor glitches or slowdowns

  • Refresh your connection to the internet

  • Improve performance if devices aren’t connecting correctly

  • Resolve certain issues like buffering or intermittent drops

How Often Should I Do This?

We recommend rebooting your router month, or anytime things start to feel slower than usual.

To reboot:

  1. Unplug the power from your router

  2. Wait 30 seconds

  3. Plug it back in and give it 2–3 minutes to fully reboot
